Tong Film is an independent production company founded by Erman Tong, built on many years of experience across the advertising and film industries.
We develop original projects for brands, agencies and artists, handling every step in-house with one creative team — from the first idea through the shoot, the edit and final delivery. Creative Director
Erman Tong
“A good ad sells; a good film stays with you. I shoot for both.”
Born in Istanbul, where he grew up and studied. He trained in electronics in high school and university, but his passion pulled him toward production.
For many years he worked in a variety of roles at leading production houses such as DEPOfilm, Böcek Yapım, Soda Film, Karma Film and Commercials, contributing to more than 1,000 advertising projects. He also gained experience on feature film sets, including the Istanbul unit of Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012).
After promotional films and music videos he moved into directing commercials, and went on to build his own creative team producing new projects for brands and digital platforms.
His American Hospital 'Astigmatism' campaign was a Cannes Lions finalist in 2018. The same project won 3 Crystal and 1 Bronze awards at Kristal Elma (Crystal Apple) 2018. He also received Kristal Elma Bronze awards for Garanti Bonus 'Trink' (2011) and Turkcell 'GNÇTRKCLL' (2014).
